Upwork

Upwork is the new beast that has come out of merging of oDesk.com and Elance.com and is my personal favorite. oDesk and Elance, the world’s two biggest freelance websites joined hands and merged to form Upwork.com in middle of 2015 forming a big competitor for Freelance.com.

Fiverr

Fiverr is the world’s largest marketplace for small business. You are allowed to create gigs on Fiverr very low that is around $5. It is a great platform for those who don’t have great skill sets or coding knowledge.

Freelancer

It is one of the biggest and the oldest player out there. After the launch in year 2003, it has now grown into world’s biggest outsourcing destination. It has recently acquired the two big giants in the freelancing marketplace: vWorker and Scriptlance and now become bigger than ever.

PeoplePerHour

PeoplePerHour gives you access to thousands of freelancers in various fields. In addition to its bidding process, it allows job posters to select from hourly gigs that freelancers set up and can start at short notice.

Guru

With 1.5 million members worldwide, Guru.com caters to IT, sales and marketing, and related freelance workers. Guru.com has a weaker search function and fewer options for getting projects done, partly due to its smaller population.
